  • The original recipe

Spring is in the air, and summer is on its way. For those of you who could not wait for summer to come, try some food will taste Sicilian location. Sicily is one of the tourist destinations in Italy, where in the middle of the Mediterranean, there are people from all surrounding areas to give a little of their culture on the island since ancient times, which in turn helped shape today's authentic Sicilian cuisine. Here is a simple Sicilian cooking recipes I discovered last spring vacation, using fresh tuna and peas, peas so much. When the peas are in season, you should have no trouble finding fresh peas around. The recipe was originally used in aged provolone, but do not want to include cheese, for weight reasons.

    Tonno Ammuttunatu

    Ingredients:

    - 5 fresh tuna fillets, each about 250 g, 500 g fresh peas or lower depending on your preferences

    - 1 onion and 1 head of garlic, chopped onion and garlic, chop the red chilli or chilli if you like it hotter

    - 8 mint leaves, three tablespoons of tomato paste, salt. You can add crushed black pepper to taste hotter

    - Edible Oil

Heat oil and saute sliced onion until it is completely yellow, then add the minced garlic until it smells good. Add the tomatoes, pour a little water in the tomato paste less fat. Bring to a boil and add the fresh peas and peppers. Add mint and salt to your liking. Meanwhile, sprinkle with flour, and the tuna and fry until almost done. Drain tuna over the cooling rack and put a towel on tuna help absorb the oil. The original recipe calls for fried tuna, add tomato sauce and cook another 15 minutes on low heat. But I prefer instead of fried tuna on a hot stone and pour the tomato sauce and peas over it, like the tuna steak. Whatever your choice, it tastes as good.
